Other products on the market today are primarily ethyl or isopropyl alcohol formulations, which are largely antibacterial in nature and only provide protection for a few minutes.
Alcohol Free Hand Sanitiser utilises a physical kill by lysing or stabbing the outer membrane of the pathogen, as opposed to the traditional antibacterial agents which use toxic chemicals to poison the pathogen. This means that pathogens can not build up a resistance.
